Words for emotions

st sebastien2After previous working session at the Museum, students are now familiar with depicting the emotions in painting; it is time for them to express themselves.

To do so, the professor gives them a reproduction of some paintings viewed during the visit. Students are asked to invent dialogues between characters regardless the storytelling of the painting. The objective is to highlight a situation in which apparent “placidity” of the characters appears to be in flat contradiction to the situation they are experiencing. Expressivity in painting depends on the cultural context of the society in which the painter evolves. Students are living in the XXI century but they should be able to “read” images from the past.
